Sehrish Ali

Founder + therapist

Dr. Sehrish Ali, PhD, LPC-S, CEDS

Hi, I’m Sehrish. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), and clinical supervisor with over 10 years of experience guiding individuals, families, and clinicians through the complexities of mental health.

I founded Guided Growth Therapy to create a space where healing feels possible for adolescents, adults, and families navigating eating disorders, identity development, and intergenerational trauma. My work with eating disorders spans all levels of care from inpatient and residential programs to outpatient therapy supporting both clients and families throughout recovery. I also work with high-achieving professionals in healthcare, law, tech, and academia who may appear to “have it all together” while privately carrying burnout, perfectionism, or high-functioning anxiety.

Beyond therapy, I provide supervision and consultation for therapists, trainees, and other helping professionals especially those serving marginalized communities, handling high-acuity cases, or managing their own burnout and imposter syndrome.

My approach is trauma-informed and culturally responsive, grounded in honest conversation and genuine connection.

At the heart of it all, I believe healing begins with being truly seen and understood. Whether you’re working through recovery, navigating life transitions, or caring for others, you don’t have to do it alone.

Our Work Together

Our work begins with the stories you carry the ones shaped by doubt, perfectionism, or the pressure to be "enough." Together, we'll slow down, untangle those patterns, and create space for your confidence and creativity to surface.

In our sessions, you can expect:

  • A supportive space to explore what's keeping you stuck
  • Practical tools to build trust and confidence in yourself
  • Gentle challenge paired with compassion to help you grow
  • A process that reconnects you with your authentic voice and values

Therapy isn't always easy, but it's always worthwhile. My role is to guide you through the hard parts with care, helping you discover resilience, clarity, and a deeper sense of alignment.

Community Talks & Outreach

I also provide engaging, accessible presentations to schools, universities, healthcare providers, parent groups, and community organizations.

These talks are designed for clinical and non-clinical audiences and focus on increasing understanding, reducing stigma, and creating supportive environments for those navigating mental health challenges.

Common presentation topics include:

  • Weight stigma, body image, and cultural narratives in youth
  • Supporting adolescents with anxiety, perfectionism, and identity development
