The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 established several new requirements for providers, facilities, and providers of air ambulance services to protect consumers from surprise medical bills. These requirements are collectively referred to as the "No Surprises" rules.
Among other things, these rules:
These requirements generally apply to services provided to consumers enrolled in group health plans, individual health insurance coverage, and Federal Employees Health Benefits plans. Transparency requirements and the patient-provider dispute resolution process also apply to uninsured consumers.
These requirements do not apply to individuals with coverage through programs like Medicare, Medicaid, Indian Health Services, Veterans Affairs Health Care, or TRICARE, as those programs already have separate protections against high medical bills.
If you are a Guided Growth Therapy client utilizing your out-of-network benefits, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) prior to beginning services, in compliance with the No Surprises Act, effective January 1, 2022.
Any updates to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page. Changes will apply only to information collected after the date of the change.
